| Ice Edge Report

The exciting Ice Edge competition is now complete, with the lucky winners back in the UK after embarking on an amazing trip to icy wonderland of Svalbard, the most northerly point in Europe, to see polar bears, walk on glaciers, go dog-sledding and much more!
Devised and supported by the practical learning charity Edge, the Ice Edge competition challenged students to research and develop new ideas to protect the environment, building them into an informative report to inspire the judges.

The competition was accompanied by Ben Saunders, the British explorer who was the youngest person to ever ski solo to the North Pole and a keen supporter of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme. Find out more about Ben and by reading his web log, follow his adventures at www.bensaunders.com

Journalists from the BBC accompanied the Ice Edge winners on their trip to Svalbard and sent back broadcast reports for both the BBC television news, and the BBC's online new service. View these videos and reports at news.bbc.co.uk
