

In November 2005, to launch the Edge into Space competition for school children, astronaut Commander Scott Kelly visited the UK.
Cmdr. Kelly was pilot of the STS-103 shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope in 1999. During his visit, Scott appeared on television, radio and talked to the press about the exciting possibilities of space exploration and how space science can turn students on to science in the classroom. Promoting the competition, Scott will also visited schools, colleges and science learning centres across the UK, giving presentations and talking with children.
