Should I go on the tours, briefings, and field trips with my students?

Can I charge work time when I go to TASP events at night?
- Yes, but they cannot be counted as your “base” hours. You are welcome to earn credit hours during this time if you are on the VDS system.
If I am a civil servant, is it okay for me to eat meals with the students and go on field trips, or is this “accepting a gift” greater than is ethically allowed?
- It is fine for you to participate in these activities because no part of the program is sponsored by contractor companies. All of the funding for the program comes from the state legislature and private organizations.
