Drew Nash

Drew Nash

Drew Nash works at the NASA Johnson Space Center based in Houston, Texas. Originally from a small town in Northwest Illinois, he attended Iowa State University majoring in mechanical engineering. Throughout his enrollment at Iowa State, he participated in the NASA Co-op Program for three tours, obtaining work experience in both the Structures Division and Aircraft Operations Division.

Upon graduation in December 1998, he obtained a full-time position at NASA working for the Aircraft Engineering Branch. Drew currently holds the positions of KC-135A Test Director, WB-57F Sensor Operator, and Aircraft Project Engineer. He has logged approximately 2100, zero-g parabolas on NASA's KC-135A (reduced gravity simulation aircraft), 40 hours on NASA's WB-57F (high altitude research aircraft), and three hours on NASA's fleet of T-38 aircraft (Air Force jet trainer). He is extensively involved with the Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program, the WB-57F ACCENT Mission, and various engineering projects such as the T-38 inlet modification and WB-57F canopy systems modification.

On a personal note, Drew is 24 years old, a licensed private pilot, and a Red Sox fan. He enjoys camping, fishing, cross-country flights, baseball, football, golf, and catching a 3 a.m. "Wings" episode on the Discovery Channel every now and then.
