
Deborah Neubek
Deborah J. (Deb) Neubek is the Acting Deputy Manager of the Exploration Office at NASA's Johnson Space Center. The Exploration Office is responsible for both detailed and strategic level analysis of human missions beyond Earth orbit which feed the Agency's technology program planning. Other appointments include Assistant Manager for Integration, Study Lead for Integrated Design Environment-based projects, and Co-Lead of the Integrated Exploration and Science Application for the Intelligent Synthesis Environment (ISE) program.
Prior to her current position, she served in the Space Station Program Office as Vehicle Integration Manager, then as Deputy Manager for Systems Integration. Ms. Neubek was a member of the Transition Team which developed the plan to restructure the Space Station Freedom program into the International Space Station program in 1993. She previously worked in lunar and Mars exploration in the early 1990's for the Exploration Programs Office at Johnson Space Center. Prior to joining NASA in 1992 she served as a research scientist and assistant professor at the University of Houston and as an engineer for Lockheed. Ms. Neubek has both bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture, with the latter having a "space architecture" specialty. She has received numerous awards, including the Senior Executive Fellowship to Harvard University.
