Astronauts Ken Ham and Margaret Seddon to visit UK
Ken Ham, Michelle Ham and Margaret Seddon Visit UK July 2009
This July, in addition to the crew of STS-119 (the latest shuttle mission to the International Space Station), three-times astronaut Margaret Rhea Seddon, astronaut Ken Ham and astronaut trainer Michelle Ham will be visiting the UK to meet with students and teachers. During their week-long trip, they will be encouraging students to pursue their dreams and learn more about science and space.

About Margaret Rhea Seddon

Margaret Rhea Seddon is a physician and retired NASA astronaut. After being selected as part of the first group of astronauts to include women, she flew on three Space Shuttle flights: as mission specialist for STS-51-D and STS-40, and as payload commander for STS-58.
Both before and after her career in the astronaut program, she has been active in the medical community in Tennessee, Mississippi and Texas. |
About Kenneth Ham

Kenneth Todd Ham is an astronaut and a Commander in the U.S. Navy. Ham was selected for NASA's astronaut program in August 1998. He has served as CAPCOM for Space Shuttle ascent/entry and orbit, as well as the International Space Station (ISS).
His most recent CAPCOM assignment was for STS-114. He made his first spaceflight as pilot of STS-124, which Discovery flew to the International Space Station in June 2008. Ham was recently assigned as the commander of mission STS-132, currently slated for March 2010. |
About Michelle Ham

Michelle Ham is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with a degree in Communication and is a member of the
Communication Program's Industrial Advisory Board at Embry-Riddle.
Michelle is an astronaut trainer, flight controller, technical writer, operations planner and educator, based at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In her work, she trains astronauts from across the world, in classroom environments, in simulators and in undersea environments. |
